The main objective of my research is to explore the implications of chronic illness and disability for marginalized populations. Given the prevalence of chronic illnesses, such as cancer, there is an increasing demand to understand the care needs of vulnerable populations from multiple perspectives. My program of research focuses on the social impact of chronic illness and disability on Aboriginal peoples and womens health, using innovative research methods, such as photography and drama. Two other key areas involve rehabilitation and knowledge translation, both of which emerge from the needs of research participants and health care professionals, as they articulate them.
