NCI is collaborating with the Sarawak General Hospital in Malaysia to test the feasibility of a study that will characterize molecular subtypes of breast cancer and their relationships with genetic and environmental risk factors in Malaysian women. We are collecting detailed questionnaire data, saliva, tumor marker (ER, PR, and HER2) status, and clinical outcome data from all cases treated in a cancer hospital (treats >90% breast cancer cases) in Sarawak, Malaysia between 2003 and 2015 (~2,000 cases, saliva collection started from 2010). We are also exploring the feasibility of collecting saliva and risk factor data from controls.
