The aim of this project is to provide evidence on appropriate age and screening history combinations to safely cease cervical screening in developed countries with organised screening programmes and to provide insights into cervical screening applicable to low and middle income countries. This is a complex issue, and different approaches have been used to study the problem in different countries, complicating the comparison of results internationally. The project will synthesize two leading methodologies, one which is used by researchers at the home institute and the other at the host institute, with the aim of validating our different approaches to research into cervical screening strategies. There are methodological issues associated with each strategy that are not yet resolved, and this project will attempt to address two of these issues.
